Strategic Objectives

To address the Sea of Marmara as an integrated system within the context of climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and economic activities;

To place the approaches of Blue Economy, Zero Waste Blue, and Blue Carbon at the center of marine policies concerning the Sea of Marmara;

To directly link scientific knowledge production on the Sea of Marmara with legislation, policy instruments, and field practices;

To present the Sea of Marmara as a model area of transformation at both regional and global scales within the framework of Türkiye’s vision for hosting COP31.

For “From Marmara to COP31” the preparation of a Marmara Blue Policy Brief is envisaged as a key output.​
