Letter of intent
Dear Participants,
I would like to express our great pleasure in seeing you among us within the scope of the Marmara Sustainable Environment Symposium 2026. This integrated platform, realized with the main theme of “One Sea, One Future; From Marmara to COP31,” aims to bring together academic knowledge, technological innovations, and policy development processes under one roof to shape the future of the Marmara Sea. This approach, which links local environmental problems with the global climate agenda, aims to produce feasible and sustainable solutions by strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation.
In the scientific sessions and panels to be held within the scope of the symposium, critical topics such as wastewater management, blue economy, circular economy, and climate finance will be addressed with the contributions of expert academics and stakeholders. In addition, concrete outputs such as patents, prototypes, pilot plants, and field applications are supported through ongoing research project calls; and the simultaneous fair organization aims to develop strong collaborations between the public, local administrations, and the private sector.
The strategic goal of this platform is; The aim is to address the Marmara Sea as a holistic system within the context of climate change and environmental pollution, and to directly link scientific knowledge production with practical application and policy tools. In this regard, the goal is to create a “Marmara Blue Policy Summary” that will contribute to our country’s global climate vision.
We would be honored to have you join us at this important meeting, which will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, and Kocaeli University, on June 8-10, 2026.
